Cuckoo clocks’ Country
November 2nd, 2006 by admin
It’s not exactly Bavaria; it’s the region called Schwarzwald, which, in German, means “Black Forest.â€Â It’s perhaps not too touristy of a region, and for sure less attractive than the real Bavaria, but it’s not at all less fascinating.
A town particularly interesting to visit is Triber, homeland of the cuckoo clocks! If you walk around the main street, you find numerous stores specialized in selling this particular souvenir… There is one store, whose sign in front is an enormous cuckoo clock (see the following photo.)

In the end, even I gave in and bought a cuckoo clock, a small one, though! In 2003 I spent around 110 euros for a kind of small model, but it is still beautiful. If you have more money to spend, there are some really gigantic ones for more than 1000 euros!!
