Walking in the Woods With the Cats

Yes, I know, reading this title, you might feel skeptical. And I was it, too, until a few months ago. Since we have moved close to the woods, we got into the healthy habit of taking short walks in the afternoon. Well, beside the usual trusty friends (I mean dogs) we were quite surprised to see that even our cats follow us!
Exactly. As soon as we get out of the house and start on the upward slope toward the woods, immediately the cats show up. Some follow us directly from home; others we happened to meet along the road. (Were they strolling about in that area and heard us coming?)
So, contrary to what people usually believe, even cats can join us in our small tours. Some are “steadier followers†than others (like the kitty in the picture, Nina;) others, on the other hand, come with more sporadically, but more often than you might regularly think!
