Ludwig’s Castles: Hohenschwangau

The Hohenschwngau Castle, built in 1832-1836, was Ludwig’s parents’ castle. Here young Ludwig spent all his childhood. It’s very close, practically attached to the more famous Neuschwanstein Castle. In fact you can already catch a glimpse of it from the parking lot where all the busses stop. It’s unique because of its light brown color and the internal decoration, which really remind of the German culture.
As you can see from the picture above (in which you can also catch the huge parking lot I was talking about,) its location is really spectacular, on a hill between two lakes, surrounded by mountains… a place from a fairy tale!
