Natural Park: Campotto Oasis

The Campotto Nature Oasis is between Bologna and Ravenna, more precisely near the city of Medicina. The first time is overwhelming… You think you are in the middle of nowhere (and, in some sense, it is true, since it spreads for more than 1000 hectares!) White dirt roads fade in the distance as far as the eye can see (as you can see from the picture above) and all around there are meadows and ponds, a refuge for several species of birds.
If you like bird watching, this place is for you. It is possible to observe different species of birds that rest in the huge “pools†of water. It is a relaxing place, among songs and chirpings, without any human-caused sound. My suggestion, though: if you decide to go, it’s best to bike there! We tried to follow a path by foot, but the distances are huge and you risk getting tired before even having seen a small part of the whole park! For more information, visit the official website of the Po Delta Park
